Writers' Brief

SUBMISSION CHECKLIST

We prefer to receive material via Tobin, our web-based project management system.  Follow these instructions to submit your article.

 

  1. Go to http://www.referenceworld.com/MTM/journalism 
  2. For “user name” enter: level3jn   
  3. For “password” enter: authorjn
  4. Choose the link “View/Edit Headword List” at the top of the page.
  5. Follow the alphabetical links to get to your article. 
  6. Click on the title of your article; this will take you to a new screen devoted solely to that title.
  7. Click on the “Upload Text” link in the upper right-hand corner.
  8. Please fill in the requested information, such as your name, email, and phone number.
  9. Click on the button that says “Browse.”  This will open up a window for your hard drive; find the file you want to submit and click on “open.”
  10. Click on “Upload.”

Follow the same procedure to submit electronic versions of suggested artwork, should you have them. If you only have hard copies, please mail them to Zack at MTM Publishing, 445 West 23rd St., Suite #1D, New York, NY 10011, USA.

 

If it is not possible for you to submit your material via the Web, please e-mail it to Zack as a Word (for Windows) attachment.

 

Finally, if neither Web nor email submissions are possible for you, put your article on a disk and send it to Zack via regular mail. Please send an IBM-compatible 3.5 disk clearly labeled with: your name, date, file name, and format (name of word processing program and version).

 

Do NOT submit articles via fax.

NOTE:   It is not necessary to send us the research materials you consulted in preparing your entry, but please keep copies of your source material in case questions arise in the editing process.
